The Full TIme position is 12 hour shifs (6pm-6am).
Rotatitng schedul 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off.
Rotating every other weekend off.
There is mandatory overtime.
We are a 911 center and have to be staffed 24/7.
The Part Time position once trained will be 12 hour shifts and 8 hour shifts both day and nights covering overtime and vacation for the full time staff.
The Part Time positition could turn into full time.
To perform the position successfully, as individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Purpose of Position:
Dispatchers are responsible for receiving, recording and dispatching emergency calls, non-emergency calls and dispatching information to the appropriate emergency public safety personnel.
Duties are performed in an emergency dispatch center environment which is fast paced and often very stressful.
Dispatchers must provide excellent customer service to the public while exercising considerable tact and firmness in obtaining information from distressed persons.
Some of the responsibilities are listed below but the list is not limited to only these functions.
Essential Job Functions:
Receives and monitors emergency calls, gathering maximum essential information in a minimum amount of time, determining appropriate response and dispatching emergency personnel according to standard operating procedures.
Provides emergency medical instructions to callers as needed prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
Receives non-emergency calls, determining the nature of the call, responding to inquiries,routing caller to appropriate person and/or takes messages.
Obtain pertinent information from incoming calls Dispatch out the appropriate resources such as police, fire EMS and /or other emergency personnel as appropriate.
Monitor radio traffic, activities of various law enforcement, fire departments, and other public safety agancies within the surrounding counties.
Notify and/or dispatches local emergency personnel as situations demand.
Regularly communicates with field units, assessing unit safety and need for back up, dispatching back up units and other emergency personnel as necessary.
Verifies and enters IDACS/NCIC information on computer, including wanted, missing persons, stolen vehicles, stolen articles, etc.
Making sure that all appropriate supporting documentation is on file.
Receives and transmits computer messages pertaining to however not limited to, criminal history, driver's license, vehilce registration, gun permits, runaways, missing and wanted person and stolen property.
Maintaing complete and accurate log of all radio,traffic calls, citizen requests, complaints etc.
Updates any documentation that is needed to make sure it is current.
Prioritize calls Ability to operate/maintain telephones, radios and computers in a stressful environment.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation and ability to appropriately receive, maintain and log all radio traffic information.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of department information and reports of all dispatched agencies as required.
Capable of multi-tasking, being able to decisions in a stressfull situation Ability to obtain/maintain certifications Cabable of working rotatin shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
Flexibility in order to accommodate unexpected situations Able to maintain a professional, calm and helpful attitue with callers.
Able to work well with others Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively, and on own initiative, to determine proper course of action.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
